the journey of your potential

We tend to move through our journey’s blindly. With our eyes on the prize. Not paying real attention to each step we are taking. Criticising ourselves for how we could have done things better. How much more we could have achieved in a shorter period of time. Questioning ourselves for something, that maybe we shouldn’t have done at all. Dismissing everything we experience that doesn't translate to an immediate win. Anything that isn’t “perfect”.

If it weren’t for the paths that we take on our journey, would we have achieved anything much at all? All the times that we have failed, contribute to our success. Every moment that we question ourselves, contributes to our success. Every moment that we chose to keeping going instead of giving up, contributes to our success. These things become our cheer squad. They become the very things that got us where we are. They are our evolution into something more than we would have expected.

Consider a tennis player....

the job, the journey & the jewellery

I remember my first experience with a Macintosh. I was in 11th Grade, in my Photography Elective. Back then they were still the Models with the bulbous round backing. In a variety of bright colours. Plugged in mouse and keyboard. And forget carrying that thing anywhere!

I didn’t know a thing about Apple or Steve Jobs. But I fell in love with the computer. You can ask anyone that knows me. Even when it wasn’t cool. Even when it did way less than Microsoft. Even when they were miles behind in development. Even though I was young. I was the epitome of an Apple fan.
I remember even convincing my Dad to buy his whole Company the first iPhone, because it was going to be epic! It was an epic flop, laughs. But I was still a fan.

As I grew older I introduced myself more into the history of Apple, Steve Jobs and their innovator spirit. Through these channels, I read mostly about his ultimate success. How Apple was lead to be one of the most successful Companies in the world. I was told all about how Steve pushed the boundaries of Products. And how he achieved communication to the Consumer. Having them fall in love with a new technology. An options that they hadn’t considered before.
It sounds all very magician like, some smoke and then some mirrors. A bunny and a hat. Watch the amazing end result. The blowing of your mind!
Apple still to this day blows my mind. While I do love their tech. What impresses me most, and keeps my attention. Is their internal company value. How when I speak with anyone from Apple they make me want to work there. To be a part of it. That is a legacy!

Steve Jobs and Apple are celebrated on a plethora of platforms for what they ultimately achieved in 2012. And how they continue to exceed that in present reality.
What isn’t discussed so openly, it everything it took to get there....

clients, criticism & celebrations

More often than not I learn as much from my Clients as they learn from me. Working with them makes me better. Just as constructive criticism does, if you are willing to approach it objectively and for your advancement.

My job revolves around giving a lot of feedback and advice. Most times I hear myself and take that on board as much as imparting it to the person I am working with.
It isn’t often though that people are that honest with me. Thankfully someone was. This video is a celebration of potential, moving forward, learning, celebrating and embracing something new. And how much more you stand to achieve if you do.

While my new lesson isn’t perfected just yet, I am quite sure that Life and Business are far greater than the idea of perfection. Perfection can be an excuse to remain in our fear.  And excuse to never finish anything or go anywhere.

Neither the Client or myself, wished to remain within that space of fear. Giving substantially more depth to the inital intention for this post and the message I have the chance to communicate.

Thank you to Nine Carat Gems, Sisters and constructive Criticism.

Becoming bold and unique requires us to understand what that means for each of us. How is the contemplation of your quintessential experience coming along?

your travel experience

The feel of an Organisation plays a huge role in its Success. The People it attracts, the rapport and loyalty of its Clients or the commitment of its Stakeholders.
Despite its importance, it is not something that most Organisations consider or nurture. Usually lost in the sea of extinguishing fires, result demand and the figure found at the bottom of a spreadsheet.
Just as money breeds money, investment feeds investment. If we are not invested in the quintessential experience of our Organisations, then we become lost in at sea, we conform to the nature of every other Organisation in our space.
How bold and unique is the experience of your Organisation? Have you considered how it affects your return on investment?
